Solution

Vocal cords:

  1. These are the stretched flaps of skin present in the throat, which vibrate to produce a sound.
  2. When one speaks, the muscles in the lips, tongue, and jaw are used to make the vocal cord vibrate into words.
  3. The voice box or the larynx is situated in the upper part of the human body, which produces voice.
  4. Two vocal cords cross the larynx in such a manner that only air can pass through a tiny space between them.
  5. The muscles present in the larynx get stretched and the opening becomes narrower when one speaks.
  6. When the air is made to pass via the slit, the vibration of the vocal cord takes place.
