Question

Does entropy increase in an open system?

Open in App
Solution

System that become more ordered as time passes are called as self-organizing systems.

  1. In order for the decrease in entropy to be possible , the system must take energy from an outside source.
  2. However the entropy of open system's decreases , then there must be an equal increase in entropy outside the system.
