Question

Does external fertilisation takes place in butterfly or any insects?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

Insects do not exhibit external fertilization. They are oviparous where the females lay eggs & they are fertilized by the sperms transferred by the male counterpart during mating i.e internal fertilization; which is also the case in butterflies, ie butterflies undergo internal fertilization.
