Dear student, Yes it depends on father. As father consists of both X &Y chromosomes, whereas, the mother consists of only XX chromosomes. so when X of mother combines with X of father, a female zygote is formed, whereas, if X of mother combines with Y of father, a male zygote is formed. Regards
