Question

Does polarizibility depend upon the dipole moment of the anion and cation?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Polarizability depend on dipole moment of the anion and cation. Because the positive and negative charge is decided by the dipole moment and more negative the charge, more the electrons are attracted towards the charge. Thus, the bond become polarized. That is why the polarizability depends on the dipole moment of the anion and cation.
