Question

Does swapping rows change the determinant?

Open in App
Solution

Interchange the column or row of Matrices:

Yes, by swapping the rows, the determinant will be changed.

Let, A=1-251 is a matrix.

Therefore, det(A)=(1+10)=11

If we change the rows, then the new matrix will be A'=511-2.

Here, det(A)=(-10-1)=-11

Therefore, swapping the rows change the determinant value.
