Question

Does the body temperature of a child increase with growth?

Open in App
Solution

No it do not change. The rate of heat dissipation happens through the surface of the skin. So, when the child grows up, the child has shown increased sweating. Sweating rate of child is lower than an adult because the sweat glands activation in the child is very low. In the adult stage, sweat gland gets matured and starts to produce more sweat. So, when a child grows up, if the temperature starts to increase, sweat gland get activated and release the heat through the skin as sweat. So, the temperature will start to reduce when the child grows up.
