Solution

Based on taste :

On the base of taste, Dorji can easily decide as the acidic solution is sour, the basic solution is bitter, and the neutral solution is tasteless.

Litmus paper test :

For acids-

  • Acid turns blue colour litmus to red colour.
  • To test the acidic solution, he should use blue litmus paper. Dorji must add a drop of solution to the blue litmus paper. If the colour changes to red, the fluid is acidic.

Litmus paper test :

For bases-

  • Base turn red colour litmus to blue.
  • Add a drop of solution to red litmus paper. If it turns blue, the solution is basic in nature.

Litmus paper test :

For neutral drinks:

If the drinks show no change in colour with litmus, then it will be a neutral drink.
