Question

Draw a circle of radius 4.2cm. Marks its center as O. Take a point A on the circumference of the circle. Join AO and extend it till it meets point B on the circumference of the circle.
i. Measure the length of AB.

Step 1 : Drawing a circle of radius 4.2cm.
  • Mark a point O and measure distance 4.2cm on compass with the help of a ruler.​
  • Put the pointed end of the compass at O and trace the circle.

Step 2: Measuring the length of AB.​

Mark a point A on the circle and join O to A.​​

  • Extend the line OA such that it meets at point 𝐵 on circumference of the circle.​

On measuring length of line segment 𝐴𝐵 with the help of ruler we get that it is of 8.4cm in length.​
