  1. The centre of gravity of a body is defined as the point through which the weight of the body acts.
  2. The centre of gravity of a body depends on the shape and size of the body.

C.G. of a triangular lamina:

  1. The centre of gravity of a triangular lamina is at the point of intersection of its medians, which is called the centroid of the triangular lamina.

Diagram:

  1. Consider a triangle ABC, then draw the medians AD, BE and CF.
  2. Point of intersection of the three medians gives the centre of gravity (G).
  3. C.G. of a triangular lamina is at the centroid of the triangular lamina.
