Step 1:
Draw a line segment AB = 16 cm.
Step 2:
With A as centre, draw an arc of radius more than half of AB on both sides i.e above and below the line segment AB.
With B as centre, draw an arc of radius more than half of AB on both sides i.e above and below the line segment AB.

Step 3:
Join the point of intersections of two intersecting arcs i.e. C and D.
Line CD intersects the line segment AB at ‘O’.
Now measure the length of OA and OB which is OA = OB = 8 cm.
And angle COB = angle COA = 90°
