Steps for construction:-

1. Draw a line segment $AB=6.5cm$
   
2. Draw any ray $AX$ making an acute angle $\angle BAX$ with $AB$.
   
3. On ray $AX$, starting from $A$, mark $3+4=7$ equal arcs, i.e., $A{A}_1,A{A}_2,.....A{A}_7$.
   
4. Join $A_{7}B$.
   
5. From $A_3$, draw $A_{3}P\parallel A_{7}B$, meeting $AB$ at $P$.
   

Thus $P$ divids $AB$ in the ratio $3:4$.
