Draw a line segment PQ= $8$ cm. Take a point R on it such that $l (P R) : l (R Q) = 3 : 2$ find PR and RQ.

Given that:
$l (P R) : l (Q R) = 3 : 2$ , $P Q = 8 c m$
To find: $P R$ and $R Q$
Solution:
$P R = 3 x$ and $Q R = 2 x$

Point $R$ is on $P Q$ then,
$P R + R Q = P Q$
$3 x + 2 x = 8$
$x = 1.6 c m$

Hence, $l (P R) = 4.8 c m$ and $l (R Q) = 3.2 c m$
