The production of fruit and seeds is the primary function of flowers.
A flower has four parts:
calyx, corolla, androecium, and gynoecium.
Calyx:
It consists of green leaf-like structures known as sepals
Corolla:
It consists of brightly colored petals that attract insects, and birds that aid the dispersal of pollen, fruits, and seeds.
Androecium:
Androecium is the male reproductive part of the flower.
Gynoecium:
Gynoecium constitutes the innermost whorl and forms the female reproductive part of the flower.
Receptacle:
The part of a flower stalk where the parts of the flower are attached.
Pedicel:
Flowers are attached to the stem by means of a narrow cylindrical stalk known as pedicel
