Solution

Pollen interaction is the germination of the pollen grains on the stigma of the flower. There are several pollens but only one germinate and fuses with the female gamete while others degenerate. This process is called as pollen-pistil interaction as pistil (the female part of the flower containing stigma, style, and ovary) will select the compatible for itself.
Post-fertilization changes are the changes in the structure of a flower after the process of fertilization. These changes are as follows:
  • After fertilization the floral parts like sepals, petals fall off.
  • Pollination occurs inside the flowers.
  • The fusion of one male nuclei with egg results in the formation of an embryo.
  • The fusion of one male gamete with two polar nuclei forms the endosperm.
