Draw a ray diagram in each of the following cases to show the formation of image, when the object is placed:
(i) Between optical centre and principal focus of a convex lens
(ii) Anywhere in front of a concave lens
(iii) At 2F of a convex lens.

(i) For a convex lens,when the object is kept between focus and optic center, the image is virtual, erect and magnified.
(1 mark)

(ii) For a concave lens, when the object is kept anywhere but infinity, the image is formed beyond between focus and origin on the same side. The image formed is erect, diminished and virtual.
(1 mark)

(iii) For a convex lens, when the object is kept at 2F, the image is formed at 2F2 on the other side. The image formed is inverted, real and of the same size.
