The rays $\text{OA}$ and $\text{OB}$ are reflected as $\text{AC}$ and $\text{BD}$ from the mirror. These reflected rays appear to come from a point “$\text{I}$” behind the mirror. Thus, “$\text{I}$” is the virtual image of the point object $\text{O}$.
