Draw a rectangle $ABCD$ such that $l\left(AB\right)=6.0cm$ and $l\left(BC\right)=4.5cm$ and find its area.

About Rectangle: All angles are right angle

two sides are like,i.e. length are equal

other two sides are of same measure i.e breadth

Steps:

1) Draw a line $AB$ of $6$ cm.

2) Draw $\angle ABX={90}^0$

3) with $B$ as centre and radius as $4.5$ cm draw an arc cutting the ray $BX$ at $C$

4) with $C$ as centre and radius as $6$ cm draw an arc

5) with $A$ as centre and radius as $4.5$ cm draw an arc cutting the previous arc at $D$

6) Join $AD$ and $CD$

Here, $ABCD$ is the required rectangle.

And area of rectangle = Length $\times$ Breadth

= $6\times 4.5=27$
