1. The epidermis, endothecium, middle layers, and tapetum are the four layers of the anther of an angiosperm. ​

Functions:

1. The outer three wall layers perform the function of protection and help in the dehiscence of another to release the pollen.​
   
2. The innermost wall layer is the tapetum, nourishing the developing pollen grains.
