Steps of construction-

Step I - Draw a line segment BA of 5 cm .

Step II - With B as a centre and any convenient radius ,draw an arc cutting BA

Step III -With a point cutting BA in the previous step as centre and the same radius as in previous step draw an arc ,cutting the arc drawn in step II at F.

Step IV - With F as centre and with the same radius as in the previous step draw an arc,cutting the arc drawn in step II at E .

Step V - With E as centre and with the same radius draw an arc

Step VI - With F as centre and the same radius , draw an arc cutting the arc drawn in step V at D

Step VII - Join BD and produce it to C such that BC=5 cm.

Step VIII - Join AC.

Triangle ABC is the required triangle.
