The steps of construction to draw an angle of $80°$ with the help of a protractor

(i). Draw a ray $OA$.

(ii) Considering the help of a protractor, construction $\angle BOA=80°$

(iii) Considering $O$ as a centre and any suitable radius, draw an arc to intersect rays $OA$ and $OB$ at points $P$ and $Q$ respectively.

4. Bisect $\angle BOA$ by making an arc of any radius from point $P$ and an arc of same radius from point $Q$. Let ray $OC$ be the bisector of $\angle BOA$, then

$\angle COA=\angle COB=\frac{1}{2}\angle BOA=\frac{1}{2}\times 80°=40°$

Hence, $\angle COA$is our required angle.
