Draw any line m and mark any point A outside it. Through this point, construct a line perpendicular to m by using a ruler and set square.

Steps of construction:

Step 1: Draw a line m and a point A lying outside m.

Step 2: Place a set square on m such that one arm of its right angle aligns along m.

Step 3: Place a ruler along the edge opposite to the right angle of the set square.

Step 4: Keeping the ruler firmly, move the set square along the ruler till its vertical side passes through the given point A . Mark the point as B, where the edge of the set meets line m.

Step 5: Join AB along the edge through A meeting line m at point B. Now, AB is perpendicular to line m
