Step 1. Draw a line segment AB and mark a point M on it as the first step.

Step 2. Next, construct an arc intersecting the line segment A at points C and D, using M as the center and a convenient radius.

Step 3. Finally, construct two arcs with C and D as centers and a radius bigger than CM so that they intersect at point E.

Step 4. The final step is to join EM. EM has now become perpendicular to AB.
