Solution

Venation

The arrangement of veins and the veinlets in the lamina of leaf is termed as venation.

Typical monocot leaf

Usually monocot plants have leaves with parallel venation. When the veins run parallel to each other within a lamina of the leaf, the venation is called parallel venation.

Typical dicot leaf

Usually dicot plants have leaves with reticulate venation. When the veinlets form a network in the lamina of the leaf, the venation is called reticulate venation.
