  1. The sawdust is not heavier than liquid so it doesn't fall to the bottom of the vessel in the mixture, hence cannot be separated by sedimentation and decantation.
  2. Instead, we can use the filtration technique to separate the sawdust from water.
  3. Saw dust floats on water, so it can be separated from water by filtration.
  4. Filtration is the process in which solid particles in a liquid or gaseous form are removed with the help of a filter paper that permits the fluid to pass but retains the solid particles.
