Draw seg AB of length 7cm. Take point P such that AP = 3cm and A - P - B. Draw a perpendicular to seg AB through the point P.

Steps of construction:

1. Draw AB =7 cm.
2. Take a point P, such that AP = 3 cm.
3. With P as centre, draw a semicircle, cutting the line at M and N.
4. With M as centre and radius more than half of MN, draw an arc.
5. With N as centre and the same radius, draw another arc, cutting the previously drawn arc at Q.
6. Join PQ and produce it to both sides to get line m.
