A periodic variable's amplitude is a measure of the maximum displacement of the oscillatory particle from the equilibrium position.
Amplitude is the strength or level of sound pressure.
The pitch of the sound is related to the frequency of the wave instead of amplitude whereas the loudness of the sound relates to the amplitude of the wave.
