Draw the graph of equation 2x āˆ’ 3y = 5. Find the following from the graph
(i) the value of y when x = 4 and
(ii) the value of x, where y = 3.

2x-3y = 5
The table with the values of x and y satisfying the given equation is shown below:
x 2.5 -2
y 0 -3

The graph of the given equation is as shown:



(i) x = 4

To find the value of y when x = 4, we follow these steps:
(i) From point P, draw a line parallel to Y-axis, intersecting the line at Q.
(ii) From point Q, draw a perpendicular to Y -axis (i.e. point R).
So, the value of y is 1.

(ii) y = 3

To find the value of x when y = 3, we follow these steps:
(i) From point A, draw a line parallel to X-axis, intersecting the line at B.
(ii) From point B, draw a perpendicular to X -axis (i.e. point C).
So, the value of x is 7.
