Draw the graph of the equation x − 2y = 6. Verify that each of the points P(2, −2), Q(4, −1) and R(−2, −4) lies on the straight line.

Given, x - 2y = 6
(or) y = x - 62

When x = 0, then y = -62 = -3.

When x = 2, then y = -42 = -2.

When x = 4, then y = -22 = -1.

When x = 6, then y = 02 = 0.
Thus, we get the following table:
x 0 2 6
y - 3 -2 0

Plot the points (0, 3), (2,-2), (6, 0) on the graph paper. Join the points and extend them in both the directions.
From the graph, we can see that all the points lie on the straight line.
