Draw the graph of the line y = x and show that the point (2, 3) does not lie on it.

Equation of line : y = x.
Then,
When x = 1 , y = 1When x = 2 , y = 2When x = 3 , y = 3When x = 4 , y= 4...
and so on.
Plot the points (1, 1), (2, 2), (3, 3), (4, 4)...... .
Join the points and extend them in both the directions.


We see that (2, 3) does not lie on the line y = x.
