Draw the graphs $E$ Vs $r$ in the following case :
If a solid sphere of radius $R$ with a total charge $Q$ on it is placed with its centre at the origin.

Solution

If a charge $Q$ is placed on the surface of the sphere of radius $R$ then by using Gauss law we can find out the electric field.

According to this law the electric field inside the sphere is zero and the outside is same as the field from a point charge placed at the origin.
$E = \frac{k Q}{r^{2}}$
