Draw the perpendicular bisector of a line segment of length 6.4 cm. Also, measure the length of each bisected part.
Step 2: Taking A and B as centres and with a radius more than ½AB draw an arc on both sides of the line segment AB
We get two pairs of arc intersecting at C and D respectively.
Step 3: Join the point of intersections of two intersecting arcs i.e. C and D.
Line CD intersects the line segment AB at ‘O’.
Now measure the length of OA and OB which should be OA = OB = 3.2 cm. And ∠COB = ∠COA = 90°
Hence, CD is the perpendicular bisector of AB.
