Draw the perpendicular bisector of a line segment of length 7 cm and also find and mark the midpoint. [2 MARKS]
Steps : 1 Mark
Construction : 1 Mark
Steps :
1. Using graduated ruler, draw line segment AB of length 7 cm.
2. Draw 2 arcs of radius more than half of the length of the line segment AB, with A as centre, one above AB and one below AB.
3. With the same radius, similarly draw 2 arcs with B as the centre.
4. Let the point where the 2 arcs above AB meet be P and the point where the 2 arcs below AB meet be Q.
5. Join PQ to obtain the perpendicular bisector.
6. Mark the point where PQ meets AB as the midpoint M.
