Draw the perpendicular bisector of a line segment which is 8 cm long.

Steps:
1) Draw a line segment PQ of 8 cm length.
2) With P as centre take any radius which is more than half of PQ and draw two arcs on either sides.
3)With the same radius and Q as centre, draw two more arcs to cut the arcs drawn in the previous step at R and S.
4) Join points R and S. Line RS is the required perpendicular bisector
