Question

Draw the perpendicular bisector of XY whose length is 10.3 cm.
(i) Take any point P on the bisector drawn. Examine whether PX = PY.
(ii) If M is the mid-point of XY, what can you say about the lengths MX and XY.

Steps of construction:
1) Draw a line segment XY of measure 10.3 cm.
2)From point X draw an arc of any measure more than half of the line segment on both the sides of the line segment.
3)With the same measure Draw arcs on both the sides of the line segment from point Y.
4)Join the points where the arcs meet each other.

i)We will find that PX=PY.
ii)MX is half of XY
