Question

Droughts can cause food scarcity in an area. Explain

Open in App
Solution

Drought is a period of time when an area or region experiences rainfall below normal level. When there is little to no rainfall in an area over a long period of time, the soil loses its moisture content. This eventually leads to the soil becoming barren and unfit for agriculture. This leads to poor yield of crops and hence, results in food scarcity.
