Solution
Dry ice is obtained when carbon dioxide is compressed to a high pressure.
When the pressure is released, the dry ice sublimes (sublimation is the process of conversion of a substance directly from its gaseous state to solid state or from a solid state to gaseous state without coming to its liquid state) and gets converted into gaseous carbon dioxide.
