Due to a change in which of the following properties matter can change from one state to another?
Temperature
Temperature is directly proportional to kinetic energy. So, if the temperature is increased then the kinetic energy of molecules increases and molecules are able to overcome forces of attraction between them and intermolecular distances increases and hence the state of matter changes.
Similarly, if we decrease the temperature, the distance between the particles decreases and the force of attraction increases. Thus when we cool gases they turn into liquid.
