Solution
The correct option is B sterilisation will not be successful Sterilization or surgical methods are used in both male and females. The surgical method blocks the transport of gametes and prevents contraception.
Vasectomy is a surgical method that is performed in males. A small portion of the vas deferens is removed or tied by making a minor incision on the scrotum which blocks/prevents the sperms from entering the ejaculate. Semen production and release still exist but without the sperms and it also does not disturb the formation of the male gametes. Male gamete i.e., spermatozoa do form but cannot transfer and contribute to the ejaculate. In the case of the male sterilization techniques, both the vas deferens are tied and cut. If only one of the vas deferens is cut and tied, the other sperm duct still remains operational releasing sperm-rich semen through ejaculation making fertilisation after every coitus a possibility, hence the contraception will not be successful.
