Solution

The correct option is C One meiotic and two mitotic divisions
During microsporogenesis, microsporocytes undergo-
1) One meiotic division : to produce a tetrad of four haploid microspores. The released microspores undergo a highly asymmetric division.
2) 1st Mitosis : to produce a bicellular pollen grain with a small germ cell engulfed within the cytoplasm of a large vegetative cell. The germ cell undergoes a further mitotic division.
3) 2nd Mitosis : to produce twin sperm cells.
So the correct answer is option C i.e. 'One meiotic and two mitotic divisions'.
