Chloroplasts be aligned with their flat surfaces parallel to the walls in mesophyll cells under low/optimum light intensities so that they can get maximum amount of incident light. Chloroplasts will align in perpendicular to the incident light in extremely high light intensities to avoid photooxidation.
And also The chloroplast will align thmeselves in vertical position along lateral walls in high intensity of light
and along tangenetial walls in moderate light because this position of chloroplast inreceiving optimal light for photosynthesis.
