Solution

Dear Student,

During mitosis , the chromosome number in daughter is same as the parent cell. The produced cells can be both haploid or diploid (Mitosis can occur both in diploid and haploid cells).

Mitosis is a type of cell division. It occurs on all the cells of an organism. It is also known as somatic cell division. Mitosis cell division produces two daughter cells with same number of chromosomes as that of the parent cell. That is why it is also termed as equational division.
