  1. Adaptation is the process through which an organism becomes accustomed to its environment in order to survive.
  2. Bypassing the feature onto its progenies, such creatures or populations can evolve through natural selection.
  3. Adaptation is demonstrated by the peppered moth.
  4. The first moth was a light-colored creature.
  5. The factories were built in England as a result of the industrial revolution.
  6. The moths and corals shared a symbiotic relationship.
  7. When corals died as a result of pollution, moths became prey for predators and numbers declined, yet it was discovered that the moths had darkened in color.
  8. They survived and reproduced after a mutation in their melanin caused them to turn black.
