Question

during the night the stomata closes so the carbon dioxide can not be released out through stomata then through which part of the plant is carbon dioxide released during the night?

Open in App
Solution

During night, the stomata are closed and plants release carbon dioxide as a result of their cellular respiration. Lenticels are the tiny openings in the stem of the plant which allows the exchange of gases even during night. So. it is through these lenticels that CO2 is released at night. Also, plants release oxygen during daytime not carbon dioxide.
