During the reproductive cycle of a human female when where and how does the Placenta develop

Dear Student,

When blastocyst is formed and is successfully implanted, there appears finger like projections on the trophoblast which are known as chorionic villi. This chorionic villi is surrounded by maternal blood and uterine tissue which then forms a connection called placenta.
