Solution
The correct option is B sporulation When conditions are unfavourable the Amoeba withdraws its pseudopodia and forms a three-layered hard covering or cyst around itself. This phenomenon is termed as encystation. When favourable conditions return, the encysted Amoeba divides by the process of multiple fission. During this process it produces many small amoeba or pseudopodiospores. Once the spores are formed, the cyst wall bursts out and liberates the spores in the surrounding medium which then grow up into many Amoeba. This phenomenon is known as sporulation.
Fragmentation is a mode of asexual reproduction in which the body of the organism breaks into distinct pieces called fragments. Each fragment grows into an adult capable of producing offspring.
Example: Flatworms and Hydra
Budding is a type of asexual reproduction in which an organism develops a bud due to cell division at one particular site. This bud remains attached to the parent body initially. It develops into an adult and then detaches from the parent body. Buds can develop exogenously like in yeast and Hydra or endogenously like in sponges.
Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction. In binary fission a parent cell divides into two daughter cells of approximately equal size and each rapidly grows into an adult. Many single celled organisms reproduce by binary fission. Example: Amoeba, Paramecium.
