Question 20 (e)

Boojho planned an activity to observe an object A through pipes as shown in figure, so that he could see objects which he could not directly see. At each corner a plane mirror is placed at 45 degrees in order to deviate the light rays by 90 degrees.

If any of the mirrors is removed, will he be able to see the objects?

Solution

He will not be able to see the objects if any of the mirrors is removed, because light travels in straight line unless it is reflected by any reflecting surface. So, if the mirror is removed from any corner the light rays coming from the object will not bend and thus Boojho would not be able to see the object.
