Which is greater:

1.23 or 1.2

$1.23=1\times 1+\frac{2}{10}+\frac{3}{100}$

$1.2=1.20=1\times 1+\frac{2}{10}+\frac{0}{100}$

In this case, both numbers have same parts upto tenth. But, the hundredth part of 1.23 is greater than that of 1.2.

Therefore,

1.23 > 1.2
