Solution

Mean of the given sample = x
=Total weight of the fruitsNumber of fruits=(0.8×1)+(1×2)+(1.2×3)+(2×2)+(2.4×2)1+2+3+2+2=0.8+2+3.6+4+4.810=15.210=1.52

MAD of the given sample =Sum of all deviationsTotal number of fruits taken=(|0.81.52|×1)+(|11.52|×2)+(|1.21.52|×3)+(|21.52|×2)+(|2.41.52|×2)1+2+3+2+2

=0.72+1.04+0.96+0.96+1.7610=5.4410=0.544

Since the MAD of the sample taken does not match with the MAD of the fruit crate, so this sample cannot represent the given crate of fruits.
