a. Introduction of Plasmodesmata
  • Plasmodesmata are the living cytoplasmic connections between the two adjacent plant cells.
  • The communication and transport between plant cells occur through plasmodesmata.
b. Middle lamella
  • Middle lamella is a layer present between primary walls of two adjacent plant cells.
  • It is mainly composed of calcium pectate which helps in holding the different neighbouring plant cells together.
c. Secondary wall
  • Secondary wall is a layer of plant cell wall.
  • It is present between the primary cell wall and the plasma membrane.
  • It provides additional protection to cells, rigidity and strength to larger plants.
